| Medieval Times! |
So we got to Chicago for Winter Break on Sunday afternoon. Jason was totally fine on Saturday - we did soccer and gymnastics in the morning and hit the road around lunch. Stopped half way for some swimming - everyone was fine!
But Sunday morning, Jason woke up not his usual self. He felt warm. Some ibuprofen for the road, and tried to keep him comfy.
Thankfully he felt not horrible enough to go to Medieval Times for dinner with Nana and Jim, but it was down hill from there.
I'm so grateful that Ryann was ok. She was sneezing and had a runny nose but no fever. So she was able to join Auntie Jaci and family for a trip to the Childrens Museum and swimming!
We got his temp down periodically so he was able to play Battleship and dice games. Poor kid.
The story of his Chicago trip. He was really bad on Tuesday morning so we went to Urgent care - influenza B. Ryann was able to go over by Jaci's house and Grammie and Jerry and Uncle Stevie spent some time with the kiddos. Jason was just too sick to do anything. We cut our trip short and headed back to Syracuse on Wednesday morning. Yeay for our comfy van - the kids were able to recline and relax. Oy. What a fail. One plus? Jason learned to swallow pills because he can no longer take liquid medicine without gagging. (insert me rolling my eyes here) It'll be better in the long run for sure - easier to carry pills vs liquid!
So, to try to make up some fun time, we went to Chuck E Cheese for lunch on Thursday. And had a really good time. The kids felt ok, they ate pizza and earned lots of tickets. But holy cow it was crowded! Everyone else had the idea to spend an icky weather day at the Cheese.

| They love this one. |
The better only lasts a little bit - he gets smushed again late afternoon (mostly because he fights me on the medicine. UGH). He did have enough energy to go for a short laser tag adventure on Friday around lunch time (Dad had a groupon - YES) and that was a lot of fun. We will for sure go again.
It's been a week. That's for sure.
p.s. Brian likes bananas.
