As I sat just now, taping my address book back together (for the 2nd time), I was reminded of my mom taping her own address book together many many times as I was growing up. One of the first I remember was a grubby looking brown thing - I was like dude, ew - but such was the times back then - brown was cool lol! She'd get a new one once the taping could no longer hold up, and it was like Christmas - ah the fresh pages! I can remember 3 books right now, and I'm pretty sure she still owns the last one I remember. I always wondered how the books got so beat up.....it's funny to be doing the same myself, knowing now it's from love: from opening and closing CONSTANTLY, to send out things to our friends and loved ones. I learned from her busting open books, too - she always had slips of paper and things falling out of the books - so I have pocket pages in each divider, and use post its for revisions. I also love to straight up tape a return address label from someone when their address changes. Makes me wonder what Ryann's will look like some day.
