I had my annual skin check in December. While I was there, I asked my NP if she could remove this little bump I had between my eyes, closer to my right eye. I had it for about 2 years, no color. Just a raised annoying bump, that was slowly getting bigger and more annoying. She did, no problem, wasn't concerned about it at all. All set.
Well, on the 23rd, I got a call from the office that my pathology came back weird and unexpected.
It was microcystic adnexal carcinoma - cancer in a sweat gland.
Ok then.
Thankfully, I was able to get an appointment lined up quickly - January 4th - for MOHS surgery in a local office in Syracuse (our regular derm used to send patients to VERMONT for the surgery - OMG). The doc is from Syracuse but just opened up his practice and was wonderful. Lots of local anesthetic numbed my face up REALLY well. And he was able to get all of the cancer in one shot. Nothing needed for follow up after he removed the stitches, yeay all set. The incision was MUCH larger than I was expecting..... just a shock. But things are healing nicely. And my doc said he doesn't care what it looks like now, he cares what it will look like 6 months from now.
So I'm expecting to fully heal and be all set.

But of course I had to take pics to document this little adventure.

my eye was so swollen!!!

HELLO - Right after the stitches came out.
A week after stitches - Yeay for cover up!

WWBU2

Ryann has been caring for her puppies and animals - she has a Pack of wolves and was reading them stories, telling us to be quiet so we wouldn't wake Her Pack.

Got a little bit of snow last week - Jason had fun playing with Dad outside.

Ryann discovered lots of Trolls YouTube videos and fell in love with the soundtrack.
I made sure she had all the songs on her ipad.
*also why Jason wears snow pants to school.....because the kid just wears shorts. That's it.

Smile NICELY......!!

MLK day off of school - we had nice weather so we went to the zoo!

Mom, I'm feeding the Tiger.

This past weekend was really nice weather too - and another trip to the zoo! This time for a birthday party! Jason's buddy Evan from his class - pretty much his BFF - we ALWAYS hear about Evan. The kids had a blast. And it's so nice to see Jason with his own little friends. After his 2 buds from Kindercare moved away, he was basically grouped into friends with Ryann's friends. Now he has his own, and it makes my heart so happy.

This is us. All the time. Especially Ryann. ARGH!

They're growing up.....

So recently the kids have shifted what they like to watch on TV.

They started watching Tom and Jerry (which is fun) - yeay Boomerang for hour long blocks twice a day! It is also "Old School" (per both kids) so we get to chime in and explain what a rotary dial phone is or listening to the radio instead of watching TV....

Continued love for Ninja Warrior, both American Ninja Warrior and Team Ninja Warrior.

But the newest addition? The Loud House on Nick.

It's about the Loud family and their 11 children. 1 boy Lincoln and his 10 sisters. Super entertaining for the kids, some appropriate adult humor that makes it fun for us, and overall attention grabbing in each episode. They don't say any naughty words (aka stupid - GASP!), and the content is perfect - unlike some of the shows I've briefly glanced at (hello, Sponge Bob, way to push the limits). Which is great because Jason says Paw Patrol is for babies (GASP!)....and he's mentioned this a few other times (like when I turn on Mickey or Berenstein Bears) so I'm thankful we have a good show to turn to.
